We finished up the 2010 rafting season on an overnight trip with a group from Refuge and Pacific University. It was a bit later in the season and the water was just a degree or two chillier but that just meant we had the river to ourselves! We had a blast with the students and were encouraged by Refuge's college ministry. Thanks to you all for a great end-of-the-season wrap up. See ya on the River next summer! Can't hardly wait! (We at Alpha & Omega Outfitters literally cannot wait so we'll probably be facing the cold, putting on our wetsuits, and journeying up to the Upper Clackamas. Hit us up if you are interested.)

COSK Rafting!
We were giving thanks for the privilege of taking the youth from Church of the Servant King rafting. They made the journey all the way up from LA to spend time with Adsideo and other friends in the northwest. It is good to know that due to our common bond in Christ we can be members of the same family, regardless of the miles that separate us. Thanks to our new brothers and sisters from Gardena for a great time.
Fire Danger!
Alpha & Omega had the opportunity to take the Beaverton Naz Youth Group over to the Deschutes for some whitewater fun. Unfortunately, due to a fire, the second half of the river from City Park to Sandy Beach was closed. So to compensate for our disappointment we ran the first part of the river twice. Special thanks goes out to Beav Naz for being so flexible and still willing to have a great time. We did have fun!

Adsideo Family Camping/Rafting

Hey everybody, just a reminder that we have Adsideo/Alpha & Omega's annual family camping and rafting trip coming up the first weekend in August. It was a blast last year and we expect the same for this year. Get in touch with the Community of Adsideo (their link is on our page) if you need more information. Hope to see you there!
Camp Imagination-Jr. Staff
We got a call from our good friend Robby with Camp Imagination asking us if we'd be interested in taking his Jr. Staff on a rafting excursion down the Lower Deschutes. We obliged, and ended up taking about 15 kids, ages 11, 12, and 13, through the rapids. I'm sure they slept hard that night...I made them paddle the whole time ;)
EXCUSES!
It had been a little while since Alpha & Omega's last trip and we were all getting the itch to get back on the river. So we found an excuse. Corey Jones, a friend of ours from California, was up visiting and we thought that it just wouldn't be right to let him head home without getting a little wet. So we loaded up all the gear, grabbed a few friends and family from Adsideo (hey Martha, I'm so glad that now you're hooked), and headed for Maupin. We had a relaxing day on the water and lots of fun jumping in the shoots up at White River. Thanks to everybody who came and for your paddle power Jones-oh, and for being our excuse!

Alpha & Omega Outfitters ended the month of June on a high note with a fun overnighter at the Deschutes. The sun was out and the river was refreshing as we took the staff of Camp Imagination through the rapids on Thursday. Many water battles were fought and much "pirating" was done between the two boats. In other words, we had a blast. After we pulled out at Sandy Beach we traded Camp Imagination for the NNU Witness group. We were lucky to camp out with Witness, share great food and conversation, and paddle the Class III's and IV's of the Lower Deschutes. Thanks to both groups; we had an awesome time!

Summer Staff Training
An almost perfect weekend for our staff training on the Lower Deschutes where the water was high and the sun came out for both days, although we brought with us our Portland rain for the evenings. We refreshed our skills, fed our excitement, revisited our favorite rapids, tried out our new toy (a Saturn raft), and invested some good time in each other. We are really excited for this summer and the opportunity to share this experience with the many groups we have signed up already. But don't worry, there is still some availability! Contact us soon!

Alpha & Omega Outfitters enjoys taking groups from all over to our favorite white water-the rapids of the Lower Deschutes. The river provides fun for all skill levels, including an adventurous Oak Springs class IV rapid. After a day on the river, enjoy an ice cream as you hunt for pictures of your day on the main drag of Maupin, OR.

Alpha & Omega and The Community of Adsideo's annual white water/camping adventure on the lower Deschutes!
